Grace M. Refuerzo is a self-taught artist, photographer, and native Northern Californian, born to Filipino immigrant parents. Her creative path began in hairstyling, where she built a career shaping, framing, and transforming clients’ looks through unique cuts, colors, and personal expression.

After retiring from hairstyling, Grace returned to school and spent many years working in the technology software field. Still drawn to creative work, she later founded a landscape design company, where she discovered another form of artistic expression through natural spaces, structure, balance, and visual composition.

After 15 years in landscape design, Grace retired to focus full-time on her art. Her work is inspired by architecture, nature, landscapes, and intuitive exploration. She works across mixed media, including acrylic, encaustic, oil, plaster, and wood. Many of her pieces begin as hand-drawn or digital sketches before being transferred to canvas or wood surfaces.

Grace is especially drawn to abstraction, geometric forms, texture, and layered compositions. Her work explores the balance between structure and softness, control and spontaneity, clarity and obscurity. Through muted luminosity, textured surfaces, and shifting spatial relationships, her pieces create quiet, atmospheric spaces for reflection.
